An irate customer assaulted a Mount Vernon Avenue electronics store employee after the unidentified individuals credit card was declined late last month, city police say.

The suspect shoved the woman, smashed a nearby display case and stole cash left on a shelf in the 3700 block store about 1 p.m., June 29, according to authorities. The victim was not injured in the attack.

Officers later caught up with the suspect and arrested the individual on warrants, said Ashley Hildebrandt, department spokeswoman. Police did not recover the stolen cash, she said.

Officials have not released the suspects identity.
