Luis Antonio Ortiz, 40, of Alexandria, was charged for his involvement in a crash in the 500 block of Four Mile Road on Dec. 11, according to a news release.
A preliminary investigation by the Alexandria Police Department found that Ortiz crashed his car into a pedestrian, a 29-year-old female, as well as several parked cars. The pedestrian was taken to George Washington University Hospital with several serious but non life threatening injuries, according to the release.
Police arrested Ortiz at the scene and charged him with DUI maiming and DUI second offense. Anyone with additional information about the crash is encouraged to contact Officer J. Burney at 703-859-0806 or call APD’s non-emergency line at 703- 746-4444.
