The Alexandria Police Department wants the publics help in identifying the suspect of a robbery that occurred at the 7-Eleven on the 3400 block of Mount Vernon Ave. on July 22.
At around 2:30 a.m. on that morning, the suspect approached a 47-year-old Alexandria man working as a store clerk. The suspect, described as a black man age 35 to 45, asked to purchase cigarettes. When the clerk opened the cash register to give the man his change, the suspect climbed over the counter and took money from the register before fleeing the area.
The clerk was not injured.
The suspect in the robbery is described as about five feet-eight-inches tall with a shaved head. He was wearing khaki cargo shorts, a dark green shirt with white writing on the front and black sneakers.
