Metro Transit Police arrested Alexandria resident Dwayne Henry Walker, 48, on Thursday following an incident in which he allegedly exposed himself and assaulted a passenger on a Metrobus.
Officers responded to the incident, which happened on the 7A Metrobus near North Beauregard Street and Fillmore Avenue within city limits, on Thursday shortly after 4 p.m., according to a news release from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.
The victim told officers that she and the suspect boarded the bus at the Pentagon Transit Center. The suspect wasn’t known to her, but sat down in the seat next to the victim.
The victim reported as the bus was approaching the 300 block of North Beauregard Street, she felt the suspect leaning against her. She said she changed her position to avoid contact. The suspect continued to lean his body against the victim. When the victim looked at the suspect, she saw that he was masturbating.
The victim confronted the suspect, stood up and went to the front of the bus to notify the bus operator. Police were then dispatched to the scene.
Patrol officers from the Alexandria Police Department located a subject that matched the victim’s description of the offender a short time later.
Walker was then identified by the victim and was arrested on preliminary charges of indecent exposure, assault and battery, as well as possession of marijuana.
Walker has a record of prior arrests. He has been arrested for indecent exposure four times since 2015, three of which were by the Metro Transit Police.
