Attorneys in the trial of Arlington County sheriff’s deputy Craig Patterson made their closing arguments Thursday morning, but after five hours of deliberation, jurors had not agreed on a verdict.
Patterson, a 17-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, is charged with murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of the murder in the May death of 22-year-old T.C. Williams graduate Julian Dawkins. Patterson maintains that he acted in self-defense.
The jury will reconvene Friday at 9 a.m.
