Alexandria police announced Thursday night they were investigating a death in North Alexandria.

Police reported the death, which occurred in the 1000 block of First Street, at 6:33 p.m. A news release stated police didn’t believe there was a threat to the community.

Police haven’t released further updates about the investigation at this time.
