Richard Haynes, 30, an Alexandria police officer, was arrested for domestic assault and battery on March 16, according to a news release.

The alleged assault occurred on Nov. 27, 2021, according to the release. Haynes has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation. No more information has been released about the arrest.
