The Gerald R. Ford Memorial Committee is seeking suggestions from Alexandria residents on ways for the City to permanently memorialize the late President Ford, who lived in Alexandria for more than 20 years before suddenly taking up residence in The White House in 1974.

You may email suggestions to fordmemorial@
alexandriava.gov
until Monday, April 30 or snailmail to: Gerald R. Ford Memorial Committee, c/o Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities, 1108 Jefferson St.,Alexandria VA 22314.

Congressman Ford and his family moved to Alexandria’s Parkfairfax neighborhood in 1951 during his second term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Four years later, the Ford family moved into their new home on Crown View Drive in the Clover neighborhood. They lived there throughout Ford’s years in Congress and during the eight months he served as vice president.
