One of Alexandria’s longest running summer shopping events, the Alexandria Sidewalk Sale, returns this weekend, Aug. 14 and 15.
The annual event will bring about 70 Alexandria boutiques out of their storefronts and onto nearby sidewalks for a weekend of deep discounts on their merchandise, according to a news release.
As part of this year’s event, there will also be live music and pop-up markets throughout the city, along with free parking in four Old Town parking garages and social media giveaways.
The Yellow Door Concert Series Youth Ensemble will perform live jazz along King Street on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and local singer-songwriter Dan Barry will bring jazz, folk and soul to King Street on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. In Del Ray, shoppers will be able to take advantage of the Del Ray Vintage and Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., as well as a pop-up market in Pat Miller Neighborhood Square from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
