Virginia State Police troopers, the state police Bureau of Criminal Investigations Fairfax Field Office and Fairfax County police responded Tuesday morning to the discovery of a deceased male along Interstate 495 in Fairfax County.

At approximately 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, while doing routine maintenance, a highway work crew came upon a body lying in a wooded area near the southbound I-495 exit ramp for eastbound Little River Turnpike.  The crew immediately notified the Virginia State Police of their discovery.

The body was transported to the State Medical Examiners Office in Northern Virginia for examination. There were no signs of trauma to the body and no indication of foul play.

State police are still in the process of confirming the mans identity and notifying his next of kin.
