The Alexandria Police Department arrested two suspects for their potential involvement in a shots fired incident in the area of Reed Avenue and Edison Street in North Del Ray on Wednesday morning, according to a news release.

Officers patrolling the area stopped to investigate a suspicious vehicle, and the occupant of the vehicle fired multiple shots at the officers. After initiating a high-risk traffic stop, the officers took the two suspects, an 18-year-old resident and a 20-year-old non-city resident, into custody. They recovered a weapon and no injuries were reported, according to the release.

The suspects have been charged with shooting missiles at an occupied vehicle, unlawful discharge of a firearm and illegal possession of a firearm.
