T.C. Williams will up its digital presence if school officials approve plans to expand the high schools online course offerings at their next meeting.

Among several tweaks to the districts education plan for the next couple of school years, school staff want more classes hosted on the Internet, according to Margaret Walsh, executive director for secondary programs.

This has been such a hit, she told the school board. Lots of the kids are using this opportunity for enrichment and many others for credit acceleration or recovery.

Other changes include crafting more technological education and career-oriented interdisciplinary classes, Walsh said, like the new two-semester bio-forensics course. The new class is being closely watched by state officials and will be paid for through the Perkins Fund, Walsh said.

The board will take action on the changes at their next meeting.
