After finishing up their 2010 campaign at 6-4, the newest incarnation of the Titans, led by junior quarterback Alec Grosser, rolled over the Wakefield Warriors 51-7 to start the 2011 season Thursday night. The drubbing was a far cry from their 35-2 season opening loss to Robinson a year earlier.
The 1-0 Titans scored early and often, returning the opening kickoff for an easy touchdown en route to their road victory. The two squads hadn’t seen each other on the football field since 2006.
Westfield is next up for T.C. The Chantilly squad, which pummeled South Lakes 52-6 on September 2, is ranked No. 20 in the state by CBS Sports. By comparison, the Titans are ranked No. 73. They take the field 7:30 p.m., September 9 at Westfield.
