Despite a disappoint 3-2 overtime loss to start the field hockey season, the T.C. Williams Titans shined in a local tournament marred by Hurricane Irenes approach.
After dropping their season opener to Madison on August 24, the Titans beat Edison, 2-0, in the opening round of Lee High Schools field hockey tournament this past weekend. The Titans would drub South Lakes 3-1 the same day.
They went on to beat Woodbridge 1-0 in the first match of the second day, before tying Stuart 0-0 in a 30-minute game cut short by Hurricane Irene.
They take on Herndon next, facing off against the Hornets on September 7.
