In an effort to provide the best forum for news, features and opinion available to our readers, the Alexandria Times is adding a new weekly feature to our print edition.

Beginning this week, Alexandria resident and award-winning cartoonist Steve Artley will provide editorial cartoon commentary on issues relevant to local residents.

Twice named Best Editorial Cartoonist of the Year by the Minnesota Newspaper Association, Artley is known for his often hard-hitting cartoons in support of education and environmental awareness.

A member of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists, Artleys cartoons have been syndicated to and published in newspapers and periodicals throughout the United States and Canada, including the Washington Post, the New York Times, and Newsweek. Look for his work on page A4 of this issue.

Also new is an expanded entertainment section, which includes crossword and sudoku puzzles.
Look for other changes in the coming weeks as we continue to improve and strive to make the Alexandria Times the best community newspaper available in the City of Alexandria.
