The Alexandria Police Department is investigating two separate shots fired incidents in Old Town that occurred over the weekend, according to a news release.

The first incident took place on Nov. 5 at about 7:30 p.m., when an officer on patrol in north Old Town heard shots fired at Montgomery and North Patrick streets. There were no reports of injuries or damage, according to the release.

The second incident took place on Nov. 6. Officers responded to a shots fired call in the 700 block of North Fayette Street at about 6:20 p.m. Police recovered evidence, and there were also no reports of injuries or damage.

Comparatively, there were four shots fired calls in October, according to Public Information Officer Amanda Paga. Two of these calls were for shootings and the other two were for the accidental discharge of a weapon. As of June 2021, APD reported 18 confirmed shots fired incidents had occurred in Alexandria in 2021.

Those with information about either incident are encouraged to call Detective J. Brattelli at 856-885-0823.
