An unidentified woman smashed the glass on a vending machine at Inova Alexandria Hospital and stole a bag of chips earlier this month, police said. 
    
A witness reported the smash and grab theft in the 4300 block Seminary Road hospital about 7:40 p.m., February 14. Authorities dont know how the suspect shattered the glass divider, but said she came away with a single bag of snack food. 
    
Police did not speculate on the charges the suspect could face if caught.
