To the editor:
Cartoonist Steven G. Artley apparently wanted to criticize lowbrow campaigning in the Virginia gubernatorial race. In his September 17 cartoon, he had two anthropomorphic pigs voicing their disgust over what is assumed to be candidates Creigh Deeds and Bob McDonnell literally slinging mud at each other in the pigs mire.
Yet Artley cant seem to stop himself from slinging a little mud of his own. The McDonnell character is prominently holding the masters thesis that is the central theme of the Deeds campaigns muckraking.
Its a bit like the pot calling the kettle black.
