Partisan attack? Really?

I found it quite flattering to learn in last weeks Alexandria Times (Lazy, unoriginal viewpoints have no place in the Times, June 3, 2010) that because I chose to express my own opinion in the paper, I am a known Republican operative. Seeing as though I have never attended a Republican meeting nor run or have been involved with any campaign, that statement is far from the truth. I have voted for Bill Clinton (twice), Al Gore and David Englin (twice) all progressive Democrats. In the past, I have donated to both Republican and Democratic causes and candidates.

I have apologized to many people for this behavior, especially to my soon-to-be two-year-old son who will, down the road, have to pay for my actions. I have come to learn over the years that progressive values are actually not traditional American values as Del. David Englin (D-45) believes they are.

Mr. Englin claims he has always spoken out against anti-Semitism, regardless of the source.
Has Mr. Englin run to the Washington Post to denounce the anti-Semitic comments Congressman Moran has made in recent years? No. Helen Thomas made some disgusting remarks about Jews in late May of this year. David Englin? Silence.

Partisan? I call it holding my elected officials accountable. You make the call.
