Thumbs down to the amount of crimes this past week in Alexandria. Conspiring to steal a four-year-old kids necklace? Stealing a dog? If any of these criminals are reading this, I hope you are embarrassed. Dont take what doesnt belong to you. Work hard and earn your keep!

Thumbs up to the three former Alexandria Aces players who have signed professional baseball contracts this year: Justin Mazur, Cody Walden and most recently Kyle Bradley. Their signings further validate the Cal Ripken, Jr. baseball league as a showcase for aspiring major leaguers. Take your family to an Aces game before the season ends its the best value in town!

Thumbs down to the Old Town criminals who are getting ever more brazen. This week an Old Town residents purse was stolen from her own kitchen counter! This heist comes on the heels of numerous such residential thefts, plus a break-in at St. Pauls Church and one at Whistle Stop Toys. To the perpetrator: You eventually will be caught by our very capable police force. I hope your jail sentence is a long one.
