To the editor:
A recent letter from my insurance carrier indicated that — under the Affordable Care Act — my premium would increase from $341 to $901 per month for basically the same coverage. Additionally, my deductible would increase from $2,500 to $3,700.
On a recent newscast, a member of President Barack Obama’s team stated that premiums for the self-insured would increase but that would affect less than 20 percent of the population. Did she not realize that’s approximately one in five people?
Could the reason most pundits and politicos refer to it as Obamacare instead of the Affordable Care Act be because many will not be able to afford it?
