Alexandrias former mayor and current State Senator Patsy Ticer has announced that she will not seek re-election and I wish her all the best. I was fortunate enough to volunteer for Senator Ticers campaigns over the past few years and I know that I speak for many of her supporters when I say how lucky we are to have her as a leader and role model.
    
Senator Ticer epitomizes the kind of leader that we should all want representing us; she carries herself with class and dignity and is a strong advocate on behalf of our community on issues like the environment and our children.
