To the editor:
I was pleased to see that among the candidates that the Alexandria Times endorsed for city council (“Alexandria Times endorses local candidates,” October 22), Bob Wood made the cut.

Having gotten to know Bob during the campaign season, I’ve found him to be an engaging, active and thoughtful candidate. There’s no doubt in my mind that he would be a fair and knowledgeable city councilor. As his campaign suggests, it’s time for a “new day” in Alexandria.

There are too many important issues facing the city in the near future and a fresh voice is needed. With Wood’s vast experience and familiarity with the city, he’ll ensure our future is bright and that Alexandria continues to be the wonderful city it has been throughout its rich history.

I encourage my fellow Alexandrians to join me in voting for Bob Wood on November 3.
