Runners will flood the Holmes Run and Ben Brenman Park area for the Alexandria Running Festival Half Marathon and 5K benefitting Marathon Charity Cooperations partners on May 29.
    
The starting gun for the half marathon is expected to fire at 7:15 a.m., the 5K starting 45 minutes later. The USATF certified course includes three laps around Ben Brenman Park and a stretch from Cameron Run to Claremont Avenue.
    
The half marathon is a RacePacket 2011 Grand Prix series race while the 5k competition is a National Road Racing League event.
