After tearing through opponents for a seven-game win streak to start the 2011 campaign, the Bishop Ireton Cardinals have fallen back to earth.
Though the Paul VI Panthers shattered the Cardinals’ hot streak with a heartbreaking 28-21 loss October 22, Ireton vowed to rebound and return to their winning ways this weekend.
But a 6-2 Potomac School squad wasn’t having any of it. In a narrow victory, the Panthers put up two touchdowns during the 14-6 win. The defeat marks Ireton’s second of the season and cements their first losing streak of 2011.
Ireton, 7-2, plays their final game of the regular season against a 3-6 St. Mary’s Ryken squad Friday.
