Benedictine held Bishop Ireton’s offense to its fewest points since early September, but it wasn’t enough to trip up the undefeated Cardinals on Saturday.

Ireton scored just three touchdowns on the day, two on short yardage runs by senior running back Moses Webb and a third carried in by Andrew Bladen. Bladen’s fourth-quarter score, coupled with a successful two-point conversion, gave Ireton a 22-15 lead over Benedictine as time on the clock ran out.

The 7-0 Cardinals, 1-0 in conference play, haven’t scored less than 27 points in a game since their season opening matchup against Bishop O’Connell, a 14-7 victory.

Ireton will face Paul VI Catholic on Saturday. The kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
