After winning five of their last six games heading into the postseason, the T.C. Williams Titans crushed Lake Braddock in the opening round of the Patriot District Tournament.
Despite a rocky start to the regular season, the Titans lit up the court Tuesday night, heading into the locker room with a 69-39 win. They take on South County February 16.
Not as fortunate, the Episcopal girls squad fell in their opening playoff game against Holy Child in a 56-48 loss. Its a disappointing defeat for the Maroon, who came away with a 53-30 win the final time the two teams met during the regular season.
Across town, the St. Stephens and St. Agnes Saints have put together a pair of wins as they prepare to close out the regular season.
On February 10, the Saints trumped Potomac 58-31. Two days later they trounced Wakefield, 59-37.
The Saints postseason begins February 25.
Bishop Ireton will face St. Marys Ryken February 18 to close out their regular season before heading into the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference February 26. The Cardinals head into the matchup on the heels of a 51-47 loss to OConnell, Tuesday night.
