The Bishop Ireton cheerleading team came home with Christian Cheerleading Associations top honor earlier this month, netting a grand champion title in the national tournament.
The Ireton girls out-cheered competitors from across the country to earn first place in the Large Varsity Division I before overcoming two other division winners to take the top spot.
This has been an amazing year. It is extremely exciting to put Bishop Ireton cheerleading on the map, said coach Angela Hope-Eskew in a statement. The team worked incredibly hard and they did a fabulous job at competition, we have been truly blessed.
For the third consecutive year, the Ireton girls were honored as having the best attitude in competition. Officials bestowed the Spirit of Competition trophy on the squad.
