Despite a strong regular season, the St. Stephens and St. Agnes Saints softball squad fell just short of clinching a second consecutive Interstate School League title.

Georgetown Visitations senior pitcher, Katie Kolbe, struck out 11 to put the Saints away 4-2 in the ISL tournament championship game. The 14-2 Saints had high hopes of another title going into the tournament, but struggled against perennial softball powerhouse Georgetown Visitation despite scoring opportunities in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.

The Washington school dealt SSSAS their sole loss of the regular season, a 1-0 defeat on April 28.

The Saints have a second chance at a title, this time in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association tournament.
