Despite high expectations, the T.C. Williams Titans wrapped up their season with a 41-27 loss to West Potomac on Saturday.
Fired up from a heartbreaking 2010 season, which ended with a 6-4 Titans squad being narrowly bumped from a playoff berth, the Titans cruised to an easy 51-7 win against Wakefield on September 1.
The season-opening win was their high point.
After the Wakefield game, the Titans dropped five in a row. Though they had a shot of ending the year at .500 after beating West Springfield and Annadale in mid-October, T.C. went on to fall 17-10 to Lee before the season-ending defeat at the hands of West Potomac.
The dismal performance means T.C. has extended their playoff dearth to 21 years.
