The T.C. Williams Titans took another step in the right direction Friday, pummeling conference rival Annandale 38-21 for their second consecutive win.
Though the two Patriot District squads ended the first quarter of play with a touchdown apiece, the Titans offense came on strong in the second. Running back Za’Quan Summers, who earned a touchdown in the first quarter, punched his way in for another pair, one coming off of a 50-yard run.
Junior quarterback Alec Grosser connected with Landon Moss on a 10-yard pass for the quarter’s third end zone celebration. Heading to the locker room at halftime, the Titans enjoyed a comfortable 28-14 lead over the Atoms.
But Annadale didn’t give up, bringing the deficit to within a touchdown after leaning on junior running back Hari Mizouri to get into the end zone. Neither did the Titans, who put the game away with a 32-yard field goal and a Dealo Robertson touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
The 3-5 Titans, 2-3 in conference play, will finish up the regular season with two homes games, facing off against a 4-4 Lee squad Saturday before welcoming 5-3 West Potomac to Alexandria on November 5.
