Episcopal High School played host to the Area 26 State Selection Track and Field Meet for Special Olympics Virginia Saturday, a regional event that serves as a qualifier for the state competition.
Opening Ceremonies were held at the EHS Hummel Bowl and included a torch run and a dance.
The track and field competitions featured 250 athletes from 13 teams, as well as hundreds of local volunteers. Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded after each event. The state competition will be held June 12-14 in Richmond.
