The T.C. Williams boys and girls crew teams each brought home gold medals among others from last weekends Virginia Scholastic Rowing Championships on the Occoquan Reservoir in Fairfax.
Keeping up the blistering form that won them a silver medal the week before against national powerhouses at the Stotesbury Regatta, the girls second eight boat won gold against local competition, beating second-placed Georgetown Visitation by nearly six seconds.
The boys second four easily bested their competition, winning the Saturdays final by more than 10 seconds.
Three other T.C. boats won medals as well. The boys first four and junior four both won silver medals, each finishing as runners-up to Gloucester boats. The girls first eight broke the five-minute mark in their final, but finished some six seconds behind winners Robinson and second-placed National Cathedral.
