After beating two backyard rivals in the Alexandria City Tournament, the T.C. Williams Titans volleyball squad is getting ready to play a 16-5 South County team.
The Titans clinched the annual city championship for the third consecutive year Friday, blowing out Bishop Ireton and St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes in 3-0 matches in the course of two days. The tournament win comes as T.C. struggles to get back on solid footing.
T.C., 7-11 overall and 1-3 in conference play, has struggled throughout the season. They came into the city tournament having just snagged a seven-game losing streak with a 3-0 win against West Potomac on October 12.
The Titans will face stiff competition as they take the court against South County tonight — the Stallions have won nine of their previous 10 games. T.C. will then take on Lee and Annandale before heading into the annual Patriot District tournament October 31.
