Alexandrias 9th grade students may have felt like T.C. Williams Titans all along, even though, technically, they were not. This will change February 2.

As the ACPS budget process moves towards a close, I am anxious to see what current School Board members propose adding, and cutting, in the 2010 ACPS budget. Its a tough economy, with property values and tax revenue continuing to fall, but the superintendent and his staff have done yeomans work.

Iam pleased to announce that the Alexandria School Board has reviewed my proposal to merge our program for grades 9 through 12, making the Minnie Howard Ninth-Grade Center an official campus of T.C. Williams High School beginning Monday, February 2.

The elementary school recently won first place in Virginia for its grant application in the Character Education Partnerships (CEP) National Schools of Character contest.
