Five T.C. students surpass national averages on test

Five Early Childhood Education II (ECE II) students at T.C. Williams High School who took the recent National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) test — the first time that an ECE II class at T.C. has taken the test scored from 86.8 to 75.3, all higher than the national average score of 73.9.

The participating students include Nicole Brown, Makia Burns, Shiquana Barr, Kiara Horton and Tahkina Sellers. The test subject areas include program management, professionalism, observation and documentation of learning, health and safety, cognitive development, language development and communication, physical development, social and emotional development, creativity, culturally relevant care and education, inclusion of children with special needs, positive adult-child relationship and guidance and positive relationships with family.
