Fresh from his trip to Florence, Italy to scope out the latest trends in menswear for spring, Old Town clothier Victor Dash is as effervescent as he was two years ago for his store opening.
I still have that fire in the belly. I had ten fittings yesterday, and I swear after each one, I was more excited about the suit than the customer. I just love what I do,” said Dash, who runs Dashs of Old Town on King Street.
The Old Town boutique carries only top Italian designers like Luigi Bianchi suits; Bosca leather accessories, and Bruno Magli shoes. Dash says his personalized service and attention are what set him apart as well as the wide variety of sizes customers can find in his store (36 to 6X).
Dash said the best part of being in the clothing business is seeing the impact it has on peoples lives. He said the attentive service and personalized consultation he offers can make people feel better about themselves, and that is what inspires him.
His spring fashion forecast? For men, expect more flat front pants, and as for suits, theres not much variation on the colors, but there is color in the pinstripes. We are still in the comfort zone of being conservative, but you can have a little kick to your look.
Just in time for spring, Dash will begin carrying custom made shirts for women and Bruno Magli shoes for women, also available in hard to find sizes.
People in Alexandria are not looking for brand names. They want value and fine workmanship, and thats what we do best.
