Hundreds of families lined Mount Vernon Avenue Sunday for a chance at finding chocolates and a glimpse at the Easter Bunny himself during the third annual Del Ray Easter Egg Hunt.
style=”white-space:pre”>About 2,000 eggs were hidden in the grassy field in the avenues 2000 block, according to Eric Nelson, president of the Del Ray Business Association. Organizers divided the hunt into two waves, one for those six and under and a second for children between seven and 10-years-old.
Parents and pets werent left out in the cold. From 1 to 4 p.m., shops along the avenue handed out baskets with coupons, dog treats and candies.
