A bodice-ripper based on the popular novel concerning the two girls who would be queen to 16th-century English King Henry VIII (Eric Bana). In other words, more Days of Our Lives than Elizabeth.

Starring: Will Ferrell, Woody Harrelson

Ferrell stars as Jackie Moon, an owner/coach/player of the Flint Michigan Tropics, an American Basketball Association team with aspirations of making it to the NBA. But who cares about plot? This is Ferrell in another sports-oriented movie, and it will therefore be all kinds of cow bell awesome.

The SpiderwickChronicles (PG)
Starring: Freddie Highmore, Mary-Louise Parker, Nick Nolte

Kids books seem the endless box office cash cow these days, but this story about three children who uncover a field guide to the Fantastical World around them has positive buzz and potential to be a really special Oz-like movie.

Vantage Point (PG-13)
Starring: Dennis Quaid, William Hurt, Sigourney Weaver

An attempted presidential assassination is played out from multiple points of view.  Although an admittedly played-out concept, this wins my attention for having such an all-star cast, which includes Forest Whitaker and Matthew Fox.
