To the editor:
A letter to the editor earlier this month stated that supporters of keeping Alexandrias local elections in May are localists and the only ones who care about local issues. If these supporters of May elections really cared about local issues they would support moving the elections to November so that our City Council and mayor can focus on the citys budget.
One of the top priorities of Council is to pass a budget by early May; however during this critical budget season, which affects our city more than any other action, Council members must divert their attention to campaigning instead.
These localists should be more interested in having additional budget sessions and hearings so they can provide input on how our tax dollars are spent rather than having additional campaign rallies.
